CNC / Long bed machining 

With over 50+ years of experience the AS.G group of companies provide detail parts, sub-assemblies, assembly fixtures, handling equipment and transportation media into safety critical applications to some of the worlds’ most prestigious OEM’s. Design and Project Management and the ability to Fabricate and cnc machine parts in house we offer a full turnkey solution to our customer base.

Our CNC machining capability includes 3,4,& 5 axis machining ,specialising in the following Techno codes :- Short bed hard metal, short bed soft metal, long bed hard metal, long bed soft metal, turning hard and soft metal, grinding and thread rolling.

We have extensive experience in the machining of Titanium, Aluminium, Stainless steels, Invar , Nimonic and other exotic metals. We also specialise in the machining of carbon fibre, model board and specialist plastics.

Our long bed machining capability in our tool room offers 18 meter capability , whilst our aero structure business (TGM) boasts 3.7m capability. Our expertise in machining forging, billet and thin gauge components in collapsed lead times and our ability to produce both holding fixtures and vacuum fixturing is unrivalled.

Our dedicated cellular manufacturing together with our Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) enable our companies to have complete control of all supply operations including stock levels, lead time monitoring and forecast reconciliation.

All AS.G companies continue to invest in the latest CATIA V5 CAD packages and inspection software, to ensure that our engineering departments are supported with the necessary tools. Our investment allows us to provide a total solution for any package of parts.

We have the capability to program components from our machine tools, design and manufacture tooling requirements , and fully inspect and prove out the package using a sealed data route requested by our aerospace customers. If a CAD model is not available this is not a problem either, we have on numerous occasions been able to reverse engineer aerospace components where models have not been available and where one off batches are required.

Our fully programmable CMM machines allows our inspection teams to inspect parts 24hrs a day unmanned . FARO and ROMER inspection arms are equipped with CATIA V5 software which allows our machine shops to have first off samples checked whilst in situ on the machines (OMV), reducing machine down time and ensuring that our quality standards are maintained
